Aircraft Rental Insurance Requirements

Non-owned aircraft rental insurance is required for every student whether they are flying solo or with an instructor.

Non-Owned Rental insurance may be obtained through Avemco Insurance Company using the link below or by calling 1-(888)-241-7891. Be sure to enter the promotional code “TF16.”

While Avemco is the insurance we generally recommend we also accept insurance from other companies as long as they match the insurance minimums listed below.

 Insurance Minimums

  • Bodily Injury: $25,000
    • Injuries to persons inside the aircraft
  • Property Damage: $250,000
    • Damage to property other than the aircraft. (Examples: cars, buildings, etc.)
  • Aircraft Physical Damage: $50,000
    • Damage to the aircraft itself

Aircraft insurance can be purchased well in advance of the start of your program. When purchasing, you will be asked for a date when you want your policy to become active. Select this as the start of your program. This way you can submit all of your documents further in advance, in order to secure your spot!

If you are a Zero Time to Airline student, your aircraft rental insurance must be annual.

Why do we require insurance?

While our fleet is covered by a blanket insurance policy, the deductibles on this policy are higher than we feel comfortable exposing our students to.

By requiring all students flying with us to hold their own “Non-Owned Aircraft Insurance” or “Rental Insurance” they are protected in case of damage to the aircraft.
