Flight Training at Spinks: The Airspace Advantage
Fort Worth Spinks operates in Class D airspace, and it sits right at the edge of one of the most complex airspace systems in the country. Students here work with live ATC on every single flight.
They learn to navigate near the Class B airspace at DFW International and transition through Class C at Fort Worth Meacham. That kind of real-world radio work from the start builds a level of confidence that students training at quieter, uncontrolled airports simply do not develop as quickly.
The airport itself has two runways: a 6,002-foot asphalt primary (18R/36L) and a turf secondary (18L/36R). The field elevation is 700 feet MSL. North Texas delivers solid VFR flying conditions for the majority of the year, which means more training days and faster progress.

Fort Worth Flight School Details
Our Fort Worth campus operates the same modern fleet you’ll find at our other locations.
Piper Archer TX is our primary single-engine trainer. It comes equipped with a Garmin G1000 glass cockpit and air conditioning. The Archer is the kind of aircraft that translates directly to the type of flying you’ll do at the regional level.
Piper Seminole is our twin-engine trainer, used for multi-engine rating work.
Every aircraft in our fleet is air conditioned. If you’ve trained through a Texas summer in a non-air-conditioned trainer, you already understand why that matters.
Students enrolled in Zero Time to Airline® have access to affordable student housing near the Spinks campus. You will be living with other students who are going through the same program at the same time. That shared environment builds study habits, accountability, and professional friendships that tend to follow people throughout their aviation careers.

Zero Time to Airline® is our flagship professional pilot program, taking students from no experience to multi-engine CFI in approximately nine months.
