Boeing’s latest 2024 Pilot and Technician Outlook highlights a significant, ongoing demand for aviation personnel, predicting that by 2043 the industry will require approximately 2.4 million new professionals.
This includes 674,000 new pilots, 716,000 maintenance technicians, and 980,000 cabin crew members.
This demand is driven by factors such as the post Covid recovery and increase in aviation traffic, personnel retirements, and the expansion of the commercial airplane fleets for airlines around the world.
Boeing forecasts a 3 percent increase in deliveries over the next 20 years, amounting to around 44,000 new aircraft.
Single-aisle airplanes are projected to make up 71 percent of these deliveries, primarily serving short- to medium-haul routes.
Personnel and Training Needs
To meet this incredible demand for pilots, fast track programs like our Zero Time to Airline program, will help pilots get the training and hours they need to start working as commercial pilots.
Programs like ours, that hold students to rigorous standards, will train the best pilots in the nation.
In order to meet the need for more maintenance technicians more fast track programs will also be needed. Our sister school, Thrust Institute of Maintenance, runs a 12 month aviation maintenance technician program that gives students all of the training they need to earn their A&P certificates and start working as maintenance professionals manufacturing, maintaining, and retrofitting aircraft.
Market Growth and Regional Insights
Commercial aviation markets in regions such as South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa are expected to grow significantly.
There is also a noted increase in demand across Eurasia, China, North America, the Middle East, and Latin America.
These regions will contribute greatly to the overall need for well-trained aviation professionals.
